Hello Readers!
The annual showing of The Ten Commandments brings back some fun stories here at Studio M. A former coworker and I always like to post “Am I to be bathed or drowned?” on social media during the broadcast. It is one of those great Chuck Heston lines, even better in that amazing voice.
In addition, Mrs. Martin always likes to tell the story of the time she got to meet “Moses”. Way back when, Chuck was on his book tour for his autobiography, In the Arena, he made a stop in the ‘Ville, home base for Snakes & Otters. Of course we were all over it, ready to stand in line to grab a copy and watch the great one sign it in person. Francis and Robert got to live the dream, but old Martin here had work commitment and had to be out of town. Foiled by obligations! Mrs. Martin got to the plate to pinch hit for me and has told the story ever since.
Chuck was one of the first heroes episodes we did, and we could probably do another, without repeating ourselves. Heston was a super giant, great talent. Studied the craft, pushed himself to be better, to take parts others wouldn’t, elevate his films and projects. Here’s the link to the heroes episode.
