How’s it going Otterites?

I believe I have mentioned on occasion that I am a fan of stand-up comics. Love to stream bits from comics on my streaming audio services in the car and at home.

A new favorite is Bert Kreischer. You may have heard of him. He’s the guy who performs shirtless and joined the Russian mafia in 1995 while a student at Florida State.

Now Mrs. Martin likes a good stand-up, and loved S&O favorite Tim Wilson, along with some other of the Southern-Fried type guys like Ron White and Jeff Foxworthy. We even had tickets to see Ron White just before the pandemic hit and the show got rescheduled about 4 times and I think finally cancelled. But you got to be a top-level guy to get Mrs. Martin’s approval.

However, I was watching a Bert Kreischer special on the streaming services one day while she was running about the house, and she got hooked on “The Machine”. Yes, I was lounging on the couch watching TV like a worthless man while she was cleaning and generally running the household. Not my fault she buys into traditional gender roles.

Anyway, from that point forward she was totally into “The Machine”, promising we’d go see him if he ever hits the Ville. Well guess what boys and girls, Kreischer is coming, and we got tickets. Now this isn’t some nightclub show. This is a full-on comedy festival with Bert as the headliner, and the whole thing will be at the Yum Center, the full size, no shit, basketball arena. Going to be absolutely killer. Just can’t wait for this.

Of course tons of comics have podcasts these days. I think Kreischer has 2 or 3. Wonder if he’d consider an S&O appearance while he is in town? I don’t think he’d do it for a snort of bourbon though. Ah well.
