Martin Monday and the snow is falling. I got to use my snow blower this evening, first time in about 2 years. Gives me that Tim the Tool Man type rush when I get to use yard equipment and the like.
Looks like we’re going to miss the biggest part of the snow though. Don’t anticipate losing power or anything like that. Won’t have to spray oil on any windmills to get them to work. Probably won’t go to the office tomorrow.
Been spending some time today watching some of my favorite old westerns, and yes, they are Clint Eastwood films. Made in Europe by Sergio Leone, the “Man With No Name” trilogy as they are known, are A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.
The one with the best reviews/rating I think ended up being the final film, but Dollars, as it came to known, was the original, made while Eastwood was working in television westerns on Rawhide. Leone completely stole the premise for the film from the great Japanese director Akira Kurasowa, and his Samurai film, Yojimbo.
And wouldn’t you know it, S&O has already delved into this. I hope I haven’t already linked this episode in other posts, but it is one of my favorites we’ve ever done, and one of the most downloaded too. So while you are snowed in, kick back and check out 3 Ronin: Snakes & Otters Talks Samurai Films. Francis captains this one, and does a terrific job.
